Winter, Winter, go away,

I really need to go out today,

It is still so terribly cold,

And I’ll admit, I’m getting old.

I love the beauty of all the white,

From my window it’s pretty and rather bright,

But I really want to spend more time outside,

These freezing temps keep me inside.

I’d rather not have to button up,

Wear so many clothes in my winter get-up,

Putting on layer after layer is a chore,

Especially with my fingers that are so sore.

I struggle to get into bulky, winter boots,

But I need them for those icy pursuits,

I have to make it safely to my car,

Because it’s risky to have to walk too far.

So would you mind now heading away,

I’d really love Spring to come this way,

I’m getting quite tired of the cold and snow,

I think it is time, Winter, for you to go.
